well, I wanted to see what this blogging was all about! I don't know for sure if I'm going to enjoy it or not considering I'm a Facebook junky. I guess I'll start with a little about me I grew up in a small town in Mississippi, when I graduated I went on to a small community college about 45 minutes away from home majoring in Elementary Education! And it was absolutely amazing! I learned what it was like to actually grow up and do things for myself and of course I made life long friends! I guess I could say band has been a big part of my life, some people just say oh those bandies, they're nerds and they're weird, but it's MUCH more than that! The opportunities I've had through band have exceeded my expectations beyond. I've traveled not only to some cities in my home state, but different states in the US also. From Mississippi, to Florida, to Chicago, and to New York City twice and once was to march in the Macy's parade. So, I would have to say it's been absolutely amazing to learn the skills I did because not only did I meet amazing people through the process, but I also get frequent job opportunities teaching what I love.
That's just what I like to do, perform for audiences and give it my all. Now, that I've decided to make a more grown up decision, I'm choosing to be focused more on my school, but continue teaching bands and guards. Maybe another opportunity will come along for me to join a guard in the future.
When people frequently ask, "what is it you want to do with your life?" I would love to say Dance or perform for the rest of my life, but sometimes that just sounds like it's "not in the books for me" so I say I want to teach an Elementary grade and on the side be affiliated with a color guard. Performing is a passion, and I won't give it up.
